Trend Forecast for 2023

Trends to Look out for in 2023:

Key Essentials:

  • Maxi Skirts
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Luscious Red
  • Cargo Pants
  • Sheer Everywhere

Maxi Skirts:

As opposed to the micro mini skirts of 2022, the maxis are back in trend once again and are here to stay. Expect lots of low-rise, pocket-adorned silhouettes and floor-grazing jean skirts, as well as styles in various prints and unexpected materials like velvet. The skirts would range from variations of denim to prints of all sorts and varied placements. They will stand in par with the rebirth of cargo pants after the 2000s. Pair them up with boots or flats and swirl them like you mean it!

Cobalt Blue (Colours of the Season):

The color of the skies has been descended upon us this season. The strongest color story to come out of Spring 2023 runways, cobalt blue has burst through the collections with the freshness of a sea mist on a morning day. Get those eyes on you and expect to attract even the most color averse with this one. Cobalt could also be paired with for your office to daily wear and help you get rid of those Monday blues with your very own. Bonus points: It pairs well with Pantone's Viva Magenta

Luscious Red (Colours of the Season):

Red has always been a woman’s close companion and it is everywhere this season. Match those red lips to your very own eye catching red blazer. Juicy reds with vibrant orange undertones that look just as good in head-to-toe looks.

Cargo Pants:

Cargo pants have returned with the wave of Utilitarian comeback of this season. This time around we are reimagining cargo and giving it a makeover. These aren't the shapeless, low-rise pants of the Y2K era. For spring, this trend is translated into tailored silhouettes, interesting pocket placements, elevated fabrics like silk and organza, and colors that go beyond khaki and olive.

Sheer Everywhere:

The lockdown has taught us to live life to the fullest and bare our hearts out to the world. Well that has very well been reimagined by fashion too. In 2023, naked dressing will make its way from the red carpet – where celebrities like Cher and Rihanna have been sporting the trend forever – to street style. From a cellophane-like dress, worn over a boldly hued maxi skirt at Tory Burch's spring 2023 show, to a frothy frock revealing undergarments at Victoria Beckham, the previously risqué trend is coming not only for your weekend wardrobe but even workwear.
